What this project does is to control access of industrial workers based on finger print ID and alcohol level present in individuals. This system makes use of combination of finger print scanner and alcohol sensor, whereby individual needs to scan his/her finger and if he/she is registered by the system then he/she will be prompted by the system to test for alcohol before the door open
Satellite communication is mostly used due to its coverage and efficiency. Parabolic dish antenna is used to access the satellite footprint. Dish Antenna positioning is very important for getting standard broadcast signals from a satellite. The dish must be pointed at a precise angle to get the strongest possible signal. If the dish position is adjusted manually, it becomes too cumbersome to align it at the best possible position. Concept of automatic satellite dish receiver alignment system comes. Automatic dish alignment system was designed with an advanced technology in order to achieve the best possible position of the dish without using manual operation through electromechanical movement of dish antenna. This is done by measuring the signal strength at the input of the dish LNB then adjust the dish in accordance to the level of received signal until the best level is acquired. The adjustment is automatic and accurate.
The use of vehicles as a means of transport continues to increase rapidly as the growth and sustainability of any economy, so do the safety issues related to this. To enhance safety against fire, vehicles are equipped with hand-held fire extinguishers to help curb the case of fire. Unfortunately, it cannot be operated once people are incapacitated or in the case of people who are physically impaired. This previous method has failed. The principal aim of this project is to provide a safe and automatic fire extinguishing system for vehicles that is capable of detecting fire using a combination of sensors for smoke, flame, and impact together under the programmable control unit which gives the command to the switch controlling the extinguishing valves. The sensors provide the fire feedback to the control unit, distinguishing the fire scenario from the false alarms.
Movement from one region to another region involves the use of buses in very distant regions. During the journey, the bags or luggage of passengers are being stolen due to tiredness, dizziness or careless and lack of concentration during the journey. There is no existing system to solve this problem; hence the aim of the project is to design the passenger luggage or bags monitoring system that controls outlet of passengers in the bus when they reach their terminals or destinations.
Identification of the plant disease is the key to preventing the losses in the yield and quantity of the agricultural product. Health monitoring and disease detection on plant is very critical for sustainable agriculture. It is very difficult for human with normal eyes to observe the leaf color and to understand the health condition of the plant. It requires expertize in the plant diseases, and also require excessive time to understand the health condition of the plant. Hence leaf image processing system used to understand the health condition of the plant by detecting diseases affecting the plants. Vision-based row guidance method is used to guide a robot platform which is designed self-operating to drive through the row crops in a field.
The safety of miners is a major challenge. Miner's health and life is vulnerable to several critical issues, which include not only the working environment, but also the associated effect to the workers. Mining activities release harmful and flammable gases in turn exposing the associated workers to the danger. This put a lot of pressure on the mining industry. To increase the productivity and reduce the cost of mining along with consideration of the safety of workers, an innovative approach like safety monitoring system is required. Miner's health is in danger mainly because of the harmful and flammable gases that often are released in underground mines. These gases cannot be detected easily by human senses. This project aims at detect a presence concentration of harmful and flammable gases, temperature and oxygen concentration in mining areas and alert the miners when the situation become critical before any casualty occurs. The designed Mineworkers surveillance and safety system comprises wireless sensor network, which include multiple sensors to sense the environmental condition in mining, Transmission Modules, and computer system with user interface and database to keep data for miner operator to observe the situation and for further analysis to allow the prediction. Then the system send the detected value to the database for storage and allow the registered miner operator to login to the system and observe the interpreted data, which reflect the mine situation and therefore alert workers when detected value exceed the threshold value.
